Choose the right project brief
A patch, a refreshed room and a renovation need different information before estimates are useful.

A localized repair
For a damaged area, photograph the full wall and detail. Record what happened, whether it changes and what finish you expect. Ask about support, blending and repainting boundaries. A small defect does not prove the full repair is equally small; assessment determines surrounding condition. Include prior repair history when available.
A room refresh
For multiple patches or a surface change, list walls, ceilings, corners and openings. Share lighting and paint plans. Ask how existing texture affects preparation and how readiness is checked before decorating. An itemized surface list distinguishes an isolated repair quote from whole-room finishing. Specify any surfaces deliberately excluded so the stopping point is clear.
A renovation with other trades
Identify electrical, plumbing, insulation and inspection dependencies with responsible professionals. Ask who coordinates handoffs and what must be ready before board work or finishing. Across the South Sound, confirm address, access and scheduling directly with each business. Regional naming does not guarantee travel coverage or availability. Keep the same project brief for every estimate.
